Wolverine Blend Overview

The Wolverine Blend combines two synthetic peptides commonly paired in tissue-repair research: BPC-157 and TB-500. BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid stable gastric pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment (amino acids 17-23) of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid protein involved in cellular migration and actin sequestration.

In research models, this blend is studied for its combined effects on angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, collagen deposition, and cellular migration during tissue-repair processes.

History

BPC-157 was first isolated from human gastric juice in the early 1990s by Sikiric and colleagues at the University of Zagreb, who identified it as a fragment of a larger body protection compound. Thymosin beta-4 was originally isolated in the 1980s from calf thymus and later characterized for its role in actin binding and cell migration. TB-500, the synthetic active fragment, was developed to study these regenerative properties in preclinical models. The pairing of the two emerged from research interest in combining a gastric-derived signaling peptide with an actin-modulating fragment.
