Overview

Bacteriostatic water is sterile, non-pyrogenic water for laboratory reconstitution use, containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The added benzyl alcohol inhibits microbial growth once the vial is opened, allowing multiple withdrawals from a single vial while maintaining sterility over the course of research protocols.

It is the standard reconstitution diluent used across peptide research laboratories for dissolving lyophilized peptides prior to experimental use.

Each vial contains 10 mL of sterile bacteriostatic water. This is enough for reconstituting multiple lyophilized peptide vials depending on the reconstitution ratios used in your research protocol.

Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative that inhibits microbial growth after the vial is opened. Sterile water has no preservative, so once opened it must be used immediately. Bacteriostatic water is the standard for multi-dose research protocols where a single vial is drawn from repeatedly.

Once punctured, the vial should be used within about 28 days when stored refrigerated with the seal intact. Discard sooner if you notice cloudiness, discoloration, or particulate matter.

Sealed vials store at controlled room temperature (20-25°C / 68-77°F) away from direct light. Refrigerate opened vials between uses.
