Ipamorelin Overview

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) that acts as a selective agonist of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a, the ghrelin receptor).

In research models, Ipamorelin has been examined for its role in pulsatile growth hormone release, GH/IGF-1 axis signaling, gastrointestinal motility, and bone and body-composition endpoints.

Reference: Raun K. et al. (1998), Eur J Endocrinol, 139(5), 552-561.

History

Ipamorelin was characterized in the late 1990s by researchers at Novo Nordisk as the first selective growth hormone secretagogue, distinguished from earlier GHRPs by its lack of notable stimulation of ACTH and cortisol in the models studied. It has since been evaluated in preclinical work and in clinical research, including studies of postoperative gastrointestinal function.

Research Findings

Ipamorelin has been studied in cell-based assays, rodent and swine models, and early-phase human research settings. Reported findings describe dose-dependent GH release with a comparatively selective endocrine profile.

Key Areas of Research:

These observations make Ipamorelin a widely used research tool for studying ghrelin-receptor biology and the GH/IGF-1 axis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our products and processes.

Each vial contains the exact quantity listed on the label. A 10 mg vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized peptide. Research-grade purity supports accurate dosing for experimental protocols.

Peptides ship as lyophilized powder. Every order includes a complimentary vial of bacteriostatic water for reconstitution. Any additional supplies (syringes, mixing vials, etc.) must be sourced separately by the research institution.

Sealed lyophilized peptide remains stable for approximately 2 years when stored properly. After reconstitution, the solution should be refrigerated and typically retains stability for several weeks depending on temperature and handling conditions.

No. Our products are supplied strictly for in vitro laboratory research. Because these compounds are not authorized for use on humans or animals outside approved research settings, we do not provide usage or dosing instructions.

All peptides are guaranteed to be at least 98% pure, verified by HPLC and mass spectrometry. A Certificate of Analysis is available for every batch.

Keep lyophilized peptides in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and light. Once reconstituted, refrigerate the solution to maintain stability and preserve peptide integrity.
